Equity by Design
Working with AARP International, Silver to Gold co-developed and co-implemented a multi-year initiative for built environment stakeholders, agencies, and organizations so that they can generate a quantum leap in the creation of Enabling + Equitable Housing and Communities to improve the lives of the people they serve. Beginning with the facilitation of a summit for transatlantic built environment leaders, the virtual events have reached people in over 25 countries around the world and is still making an impact.

Age Friendly Center for Excellence
We helped create and lead one of the United States’ first Age-Friendly Centers for Excellence in a public-private partnership. The overarching goal was to provide resources to enable municipalities and organizations to better meet the needs of older adults. The project included the development and implementation of a virtual workshop series and guide for municipalities.

Enable by Design
In a multi-year initiative we helped a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) better understand the older adults they serve so they could improve the lives of their residents and make things easier for staff. Resident focus groups uncovered crucial unknown issues. Training workshops educated administrative, direct care, and maintenance staff on sensory & physiological age-related changes, and the impact of the built environment on both residents’ functioning and on caregiving. Our custom manual is an ongoing resource for maintenance staff on specific design features that informs enabling renovations and aids in the evaluation of spaces.
